Meet our vendor, Tina Schwickerath

Tina's Crocheted Critters
The very basic explanation of an emporium is a store carrying a wide variety of merchandise. The more detailed definition goes back to Latin and Greek origins, "From emporos meaning traveler, trader, and poros translated to mean passage or journey." As early as the 15th century, the word Emporium was used to describe a place where travelers would gather to exchange goods.
That is the essence of what we are at The Black Swan Emporium. A place for travelers to gather and to exchange goods.
A perfect example of that, is our vendor Tina. In her booth, not only will you find an ever changing assortment of collectibles, vintage and antique items, you will also find Tina's Crocheted Critter creations.
She learned the basics from her Grandmother when she was little, and says she has always done some sort of hand work to pass the time. Somewhere along the way, Tina came across Amigurumi, the "Art of Little Creatures", and has not looked back. Tina crochets and needlepoints an adorable array of little soft stuffed critters (as she calls them), key chains, and other delightful hand made items that just make you smile. Her Little Mermaids and Jellyfish are regular favorites, and she is always making new cuddly creations every day.
Just as we mentioned at the beginning, our Emporium is definitely a gathering place for travelers, both as vendors at our shop, and a place for those traveling through our area.
Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to see the wide variety of vendors we are blessed to have at the Emporium. Better yet, come visit us! Be prepared to stay awhile, pull up a chair and chat, and definitely discover all of the items we have at The Black Swan Emporium.
